• Expanded apiary with two dozen colonies spread over three villages to cover maximum honey source and avoid competition

• Recorded average yield of 13kg/hive with single and double super chambers. A total of around 300 kg honey collected in this season

• Average income from apiary in this season crossed Rs.20000/- through the sale of honey, hives, consultancy and training fees.

• Integrated bee keeping with stingless bee to utilize the flora of the locality

• Developed as a Master trainer and giving trainings and technology transfer to various client groups

Perception

·       Scientific bee keeping practice is an eco and women friendly technology, can be practiced by farm women especially in rubber plantation tracts to get an additional income. An apiary with minimum 10 hives can give Rs. 8000/season.
